a young, research based chemical company, focused on the synthesis of sophisticated, mainly chiral, small molecules for international customers in the life science industries on lab scale.

These demanding syntheses and the preliminary research on new synthetic routes are both carried out exclusively on demand and in the course of our proprietary in-house projects. We are looking for a

Synthetic Chemist (m/f) (PhD level)

with special interests in applied modern organic chemistry.

The applicant is expected to work with a high degree of personal responsibility on own projects in the laboratory.
The main tasks of the vacant position include:

· the synthesis design, considering the newest chemical know-how
· the careful preparation and scheduling of the projects
· the practical synthetic work & its (analytical) documentation
· the conduct of (initially) one lab-worker and the co-operation with other internal / external research teams

As our challenging projects directly contribute to the development of new products at our customers, the candidate should have proven expertise in modern organic chemistry with all its state-of-the-art synthesis methods, operations and efficient purification procedures.
Basics of the usual analytical methods (HPLC, GC, MS, NMR, DC), a good command of English and dedication to experimental work is required. Managerial qualities, a sense for economic issues, first experiences with quality management systems and good communication skills would be advantageous.

The successful candidate is able to connect first class theoretical expertise with best practical abilities employing ChiroBlock’s proprietary internal tools for managing quality, risks, projects and knowledge.
